From the Provence up to the Cevennes is a region with many sights. The world famous roman aqueduct, called 'Pont-de-Gard' is worth a trip for it's own and is a must for every visitor of the Gard. The aqueduct was constructed by the Romans some 2500 Years ago and is part of a fresh water channel; it's purpose was to supply the capital city of Gard, Nîmes, with fresh water. |
